About the company

A family company built on the piers of Guanta

T&T Stevedoring (Tillero y Trujillo Stevedoring, C.A.) was founded in 1989 by Miguel Trujillo and Guillermo Tillero as a family-owned stevedoring company at the Port of Guanta, in Anzoátegui State, Venezuela. More than three decades later the company is still run by the same families, and the same principle still governs every operation: cargo moves safely, on time, and with someone accountable standing on the pier.

Over its history T&T has handled millions of tons of cargo, from the aluminum export booms of the 1990s to today's project cargo, oil and gas equipment, offshore modules, tubulars, steel products, bagged cargo and complex heavy lift operations. The company combines Venezuelan port experience with international standards of planning, documentation and safety, and coordinates internationally through its Miami office, T&T Worldwide Stevedores, LLC. From Guanta, next to Puerto La Cruz, T&T also serves cargo bound for the José industrial and petrochemical complex (Complejo Industrial José Antonio Anzoátegui) and the offshore energy projects of the eastern Venezuelan coast.

Shipping lines, charterers, freight forwarders, cargo owners, underwriters and offshore energy operators work with T&T because the company delivers three things that are hard to find in the same place: deep local knowledge of Venezuelan ports and their regulations, real heavy lift and rigging capability, and disciplined reporting that stands up to scrutiny anywhere in the world.

Services

Everything a vessel and its cargo need at a Venezuelan port

Six service lines, one accountable operator. Each service below is available on its own or combined into a single port call package with one point of contact.

SVC 01

Stevedoring & Terminal Operations

Full vessel loading and discharge of breakbulk, project cargo, steel products, aluminum, bagged cargo, big bags, offshore containers and homogeneous cargo. We plan the operation before the vessel berths: gang composition, gear, sequence, lashing and dunnage, weather windows and terminal coordination, so the vessel works from first line ashore to last lift.

Our supervisors and foremen have decades on the same piers. We know the berths, the drafts, the terminal authorities and the paperwork, and we manage the full documentary cycle of the call, from pre-arrival cost estimates to the final Statement of Facts.

Stevedoring services at eastern Venezuelan ports: scope, cargo types and how we plan a call

Cargo types Breakbulk, project, steel, aluminum, bagged, big bags, offshore units Basis Revenue Ton (W/M) under the official Venezuelan port tariff framework Deliverables Pre-arrival estimate, daily reports, SOF, tally
SVC 02

Project Cargo & Heavy Lift

We have discharged and loaded single pieces of up to 350 metric tons, executed tandem lifts with ship's gear, and transshipped heavy units to barges and floating platforms. Every heavy lift starts with a rigging plan: piece geometry, center of gravity, lifting points, spreader frames, wire and sling certification, ground bearing and transport route to the laydown area.

Typical projects include refinery and petrochemical equipment, transformers, generators, shiploaders and port cranes, offshore modules, drilling equipment and wind and power components. Where the port has no shore cranes we engineer the operation around ship's gear and our own rigging inventory.

SVC 03

Port Captaincy & Operations Supervision

When a shipping line or cargo owner needs eyes and authority on the pier without contracting the full stevedoring, we attend the vessel as Port Captains. We supervise third-party stevedores, verify cargo handling practices, protect the vessel's and the cargo interests' position, and keep principals informed in real time.

Each attendance produces a complete record of the call: Daily Vessel Reports, Statement of Facts, photographic and video evidence, delay and stoppage logs, and immediate escalation of any unsafe practice or cargo damage observed. Our reporting has supported owners, charterers and underwriters in commercial discussions and claims.

SVC 04

Cargo Inspections & Discharge SurveysNew

Independent surveys and inspections of cargo at loading and discharge: condition surveys, tally, draft and quantity verification, lashing and securing inspections, pre-shipment and outturn reports. We document the condition of every piece from hook to yard with time-stamped photographs and video, so cargo interests know exactly what arrived, in what condition, and when.

Where damage occurs, our surveyors preserve the evidence trail that claims require: damage annotations on tally, joint survey coordination, segregation of affected cargo and full photographic files delivered within hours, not weeks. This service is available at all the ports we serve, for our own operations or as an independent check on third-party stevedores.

Lifting Equipment & Yard Machinery RentalNew

We rent our own fleet of port equipment for operations in eastern Venezuela: heavy-duty forklifts up to 30 tons capacity, container and heavy cargo lift trucks, spreader frames, certified wire rigging, slings, shackles and below-the-hook lifting gear. Equipment is delivered with certified operators, maintenance support and current inspection documentation.

Rental is available by the shift, day, week or project, at the port, in our yards or at industrial sites in the region. For project campaigns we assemble complete equipment packages matched to the cargo list, so a single contract covers machines, gear, operators and supervision.

Warehousing & Laydown Yards

Our group operates approximately 50,000 m² of yard space in the Guanta area, including a 9,000 m² yard directly opposite the port entrance. We receive, store and dispatch project cargo, tubulars, offshore equipment, chemicals in big bags, machinery and general cargo, with controlled access, inventory records and cargo condition documentation at reception and dispatch.

Because the yard is minutes from the berth, cargo moves from ship to secure storage in a single short haul, reducing handling, exposure and cost. Laydown planning, blocking and stacking, and preservation routines for long-stay project cargo are part of the service.

The T&T family on deck at Guanta, 1990s. Many of the same people, and their children, still run our operations today.
1989

Origins

Miguel Trujillo and Guillermo Tillero found T&T Stevedoring as a family-owned company focused on port operations at the Port of Guanta, eastern Venezuela.

1990s

Growth in Guanta

The company becomes a key operator in the development of the Port of Guanta, handling large volumes of aluminum, homogeneous cargo and industrial goods, and begins its relationship with international project carriers, serving SAL Intermarine from 1991.

2000s–2010s

Evolution into project cargo

T&T incorporates project cargo, breakbulk and oil-related cargo operations, builds its heavy lift and rigging capability, and establishes itself as the regional reference for specialized and high-complexity cargo handling, including pieces of up to 350 metric tons.

Today

Integrated port services and digital operations

The company operates across four eastern Venezuelan ports with six service lines, an international office in Miami, its own digital terminal operations platform for real-time reporting, and new service lines in cargo surveying and equipment rental.

Next generation

Technology on the pier: live operations, in your hands

A digital operator led by the new generation

Under General Manager Maximiliano Trujillo, the second generation of the founding families, T&T has built its own AI-assisted terminal operations platform, developed in-house for the realities of Venezuelan ports. Field supervisors log the Statement of Facts live from on board while the vessel is discharging: every milestone, gang change, delay, weather stop and cargo movement is captured on mobile at the moment it happens, with time-stamped photographs attached to each event.

What principals get from it

Shipping lines and cargo owners follow their port call in real time through a live operations portal: SOF events as they are logged, cargo balance discharged versus remaining, photo gallery of the operation and automatic notifications when the vessel starts working. When the vessel sails, the Statement of Facts, daily reports and the photographic record are already built, consistent, and ready for laytime, claims or internal reporting. No reconstruction from notebooks days later.

News and current status

What is happening at T&T and at the Port of Guanta

2026

Mobile harbor crane capacity arriving at Guanta

A Liebherr LHM 420 mobile harbor crane is being incorporated at the Port of Guanta, a major step for a port that has historically worked on ship's gear. For carriers this widens the range of vessels and cargo the port can receive; T&T is preparing operational plans that combine the new shore crane with its rigging inventory and heavy lift experience.

2026

Live SOF platform in production on active port calls

Our AI-assisted Terminal Ops platform is now used on active vessel operations, with field supervisors logging the Statement of Facts live from on board during discharge and principals following the call in real time. The platform was validated in pilot operations and is now part of our standard service at Guanta.

2026

New service lines: cargo surveys and equipment rental

T&T formally launched two new service lines: independent cargo inspections and discharge surveys for carriers, cargo owners and underwriters, and rental of lifting equipment and yard machinery with certified operators, serving the ports and industrial sites of eastern Venezuela.

2026–2027

Fleet and infrastructure reactivation program underway

T&T is executing a multi-phase investment program to reactivate and expand its equipment fleet and yard infrastructure in Guanta, including heavy-duty forklifts, power generation, rigging yard improvements and storage capacity, reinforcing its position as the reference operator of the Port of Guanta and the Puerto La Cruz corridor.

Institutional framework

A licensed operator inside Venezuela's port system

Operating in Venezuela requires more than equipment and people. It requires standing inside the country's port and maritime institutions. T&T has held that standing for more than three decades.

Registrations and regulatory framework

T&T Stevedoring is a licensed stevedoring operator registered before Bolivariana de Puertos (Bolipuertos, S.A.), the state company that administers Venezuela's main public commercial ports, including the Port of Guanta. Our operations at Cumaná, Araya and other Sucre State ports run under the administration of Puertos de Sucre, S.A. The national aquatic and port framework is set by the Instituto Nacional de los Espacios Acuáticos (INEA), Venezuela's maritime authority.

We are active participants in Venezuela's maritime community, alongside institutions such as the Asociación Naviera Venezolana and the Asociación Venezolana de Derecho Marítimo (AVDM), the country's maritime law association affiliated with the Comité Maritime International.

Official port tariffs, in the open

Port services at Bolipuertos-administered public ports are billed under the official tariff resolution published in Gaceta Oficial No. 41.227 of September 2017, on a Revenue Ton basis (weight or measure, whichever is greater). We work with the published framework and put it in your hands from day one: download the official Bolipuertos tariff below and ask us for a pre-arrival cost estimate against your actual cargo list.

Tariffs for Sucre State ports (Cumaná, Araya, Carúpano, Güiria) are published separately by Puertos de Sucre, S.A. and available on request.
